About this event

This resource unit provides a collection of engaging and instructive activities and demonstrations to help teach students the fundamentals of geology and to introduce plate tectonics and history of the Earth through creative learning activities. Units in the binder address essential topics like minerals, the three types of rocks, structure of Earth, volcanoes and earthquakes, plus unique topics like Famous Rocks and B.C. geology.

Presented by NAGT-Pacific Northwest Outstanding Earth Science Teacher award winner and MineralsEd Partner-Teacher Kerry Lockwood.

MineralsEd is an educational organization operating in British Columbia that is dedicated to encouraging and supporting Earth science, mineral resources and mining education in school.

Our main roles are to support teachers in their development of classroom materials related to minerals, mining and geoscience, and to deliver workshops, field trips and other mineral-relevant learning opportunities for teachers and students.
